The One We've Never Seen
We never saw His face, nor felt His touch,
So long ago it was: that happy day
He walked upon this earth and gave so much,
And yet we know the Saviour came our way.
Those gracious words He spoke like ne’er before,
Our ears have never heard; we were not there.
And yet they’re living words forevermore,
And in our hearts are prized for they declare -
The wonders of that lovely Man above
Who’s seated at the Father’s own right hand.
Such beauties in that One we’ve grown to love:
Who we have never seen yet understand -
With joy unspeakable and full delight,
We know He’s ours this day and we, His own.
One day when feeble faith gives way to sight
We’ll see Him as He is in His fair home.
